It is the seat of the Diocese of Arecibo The Cathedral of San Felipe Apóstol, was built from the end of the 18th century.

The Paseo Víctor Rojas, also known as El Fuerte or Paseo de Damas, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, was built in 1881. It was included in the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is a rectangular walk that was built on the ruins of the fort of San Miguel, partly using stone from the ruins.
